Going shopping in Doha is different from shopping at Bangalore. Unlike Blr, shopping “bare-faced” isn’t recommended here 😉 The sales attendants just don’t take you seriously!
So, with a toddler in tow (whoa! she’s officially a toddler now) how does one get out of the door in 5 mins?
The changing bag is a marine’s gun, every ready to fire. Baby clothes take a minute to put on (only if I surrender my cell- phone for the duration).
Sunscreen’s mandatory of course (hello, have you been to the middle east?). I can’t be bothered with concealer and foundation, but the least I can do (to minimize the “zombiness” of my face) is slap on some BB cream. Rubbing that in takes about 30 seconds.
Then it’s the eyes. Leaving them bare is not a viable option, so some brown pencil it is. I line the waterline, then use the same to draw in some brows. Phew, another minute gone.
Pop some color on the cheeks and lips and if that can be done quick enough, load some mascara on as well.
Don’t tinker about with the hair, just pull everything up into a high, messy bun.
You are still in you PJs. No issues. Pull your flowy, elegant abaya over your head and drape the scarf stylishly. No one will be none the wiser. Complete the look with some matching sunnies and a functional pair of heels.
Spritz generous amounts of fruity perfume and chuck the bottle into your bag (you will need it during the trip, trust me!)
Then, snatch your phone from stubborn baby’s vice- like grip and scoop her onto your hip. Grab the changing bag and your wallet and out you go!
All in five minutes!
Till next time..
